B GREEN’s outdoor pots are frost-resistant
Our unglazed pots with drainage holes are frost-resistant. This means we guarantee that the pots will not crack due to frost, provided you follow some simple guidelines.
The pots are made of clay, a natural material, and to withstand frost, they require some care from you.
We have therefore created a list with 5 tips on how to protect your pots during the cold season.
Follow these 5 tips:
The hole at the bottom of the pot must be kept clear and should not be covered or blocked.
Excess water must be able to drain from the pot. To ensure this, fill 1/4 of the pot with stones or another effective draining material. If water accumulates in the pot, it can freeze and cause cracks or even break the pot.
Lift the pots off the ground; they should not be placed directly on soil or grass in winter. It’s a good idea to use pot feet, which ensure the correct spacing (1 to 2 cm) for water to drain properly.
If you use a saucer, remove it from the pot in winter. If water collects in the saucer, it can cause the pot to crack during freezing weather.
Avoid moving the pots during winter and be careful not to bump them.
